Direct Messaging feature of Instagram has been most successful features in recent times. People can directly message to their followers. This function is only accessible from the Instagram mobile applications. But now Instagram, which is a Facebook owned platform has rolled out a new feature through this, the people can send messages from Instagram website using browser.
There was news in past that photo-sharing service was already tested on web based platform through Direct Messaging. In this a small group of users participated in January 2020. According to a post on twitter from company, now you can receive and send Instagram messages by sliding into DMs.
Instagram has reduced streaming quality:
In another news, the Facebook and Instagram apps both has reduced their streaming quality of videos. By reducing the quality they want to reach large number of users because this will reduce the internet load and allow fast access to the users. During the period of lock down in most of the countries the web speed has already started conjunct due to hits.
Steps to send Instagram direct messages on web:
Step 1: Open any web browser and login to your Instagram account on the it.
Step 2: Go to top right corner, the direct messaging section can be found there; similarly you would find it in a mobile app at same place.
Step 3: Now you can easily send message from your Instagram account to others by tapping on direct message account. You can also enable desktop notifications to get alerted on replies similar to the mobile app.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently told The New York Times that “private messaging, groups, and Stories” were the “three fastest-growing areas of online communication”.
From the beginning of testing, Instagram has started made small updates to its service to make it more likely direct messaging just as mobile applications. The Verge reported that this also includes the emoji keyboard and adding a gallery view to photos and videos. The aim to such enhancement in web for direct messages is to make Instagram convenient for those who use Instagram most of time, including journalists, social media influencers and managers and celebrities.
