Facebook Quiet Mode

Social media giant Facebook recently launched a new feature for its mobile app named ‘Quiet Mode’. Facebook Quiet Mode will help their users to manage screen time. The largest social media platform provides this facility to their users so that they can take break from Facebook. This will be very helpful to Facebook addicted users.

This Feature will have a setting to schedule the switch off and switch on notifications from the app as per their choice. When user turns on the quiet mode, he will not receive any notifications until the schedule time is over. It would be difficult to launch the app when the quiet mode is enabled, and the app will show reminder to user about the schedule time of quiet mode ends. But there is also an option for any emergency to bypass the system with 15 minutes time limit.

Facebook’s blog states, “As we all adjust to new routines and staying home, setting boundaries for how you spend your time online can be helpful. Whether it’s to help you focus on your family and friends, sleep without distraction or manage how you spend your time at home, we have tools that can help you find the right balance for how you use Facebook.”

As people are spending their time on social media platforms due to business closure in lockdown because of Covid-19 Pandemic. This new feature will also be helpful to collect the data about the users who spend so much time on Facebook. Thus it is also intended to act as mental health checker.

With the help of this the user will be able to track their weekly usage of time on app along with breaks. The updated Activity Dashboard gives detailed glimpse about your time spent.
