From 15th January 2020 the Indian government and NHAI (National Highway Authority Of India) has made the Fastag compulsory for all type of vehicle either Commercial or private in all over the country for all toll payments.
What is Fastag in India:
The Fastag is prepaid and rechargeable tags just like a sim or smart card, used for toll collection from toll plazas without stopping the vehicle at toll plaza and avoid long row of vehicles . The toll tax amount automatically deduct from Fastag. You have to recharge it time to time.
The recharge method has given below:
1st Method: Through Fastag App
If You have purchased your Fastag from an online shopping website then the self-activation process will work for that. The activation will process by entering your vehicle registration no, chesis no. and phone no. into the Fastag app and it will be auto activate .
2nd Method: By Bank
When you purchage the fastag from an athorised bank it will be link to your account and get activated. Activation process needs the KYC of account holder by submitting necessary documents and RC (Registration Certificate) to the bank.
Other Recharge Method of Fastag:
Users can use the NHAI Prepaid Wallet to recharge the Fastag, User need to recharge it to connect with the Fastag for payments.
The Fastag linked with any bank account will autometicaly recharge by deduction from account balance.
You have another option to recharge the Fastag by using UPI, Paytm and GooglePay.
