Google Makes Hangouts Meet Features Free Until 1st July, Due to COVID-19 Effect

Google has announced to waiving fee on the premium version of Hangouts Meet to help remote schools and businesses to operate business and conference meets.

Starting 1st week of March until 1st July, G Suite’s education customers and company customers can use the Hangout Meat Premium for free.

Businesses and schools can benefit the most from some of the premium features during this time, which will include:
People can now participate in virtual meetings with more than 250 people and live-stream with the viewers of over 100,000. The paid version of Google Hangouts Meet will be available free until 1st July. Also they will have the feature to make them able to save recordings of their meetings on Google Drive for free.

As more employees, educators, and students work remotely in response to the spread of COVID-19, we want to do our part to help them stay connected and productive. G Suite and G Suite for Education make up our collection of productivity apps that help businesses and educators collaborate no matter where they’re located.

In the Google blog post there is a statement that-

As COVID-19 continues to spread, we’re taking action to keep our employees safe and to help people around the world find the information they need. We’ll continue to share updates about how we’re responding, and how our products can help people stay connected during this time.

There is no doubt that, to assist the large business with online meetings will save the travel time to employees and make the company-wide presentation beneficial for business organizations.

as more businesses adjust their work-from-home policies and adopt reduced travel plans in response to COVID-19, we’re helping to ensure that all globally distributed teams can still reliably meet face to face, even if employees are not in the same location. 

These features are typically available only for Enterprise edition of G Suite and for G Suite Enterprise of Education as well. There will be no additional cost to all customers from 1st week of March to July 1, 2020.
